Freedom from proprietary software!
By Wise Consumer from Columbus, Ohio on 1/5/2010
Pros:
Easy To Set Up, Great Sound, Long Battery Life, Lots of Storage, Reliable Performance, Sleek/Compact
Cons:
Confusing Controls, Screen typeface too small
Best Uses:
Anywhere
Describe Yourself:
Avid Listener
Primary use:
Personal
How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The best thing is, you can import music from any source -- from CD, from online music providers and other online sources, from flash drives and from other other Clips, just by connecting the Clip to a computer and dragging MP3, WAV and other audio files into the Clip. This is unlike the world's most famous MP3 player brand, which can only be accessed by using its manufacturers equally famous proprietary software. You're not forced to use anybody's proprietary software in order to put the music into the Clip. I love being unchained from the totalitarian world of proprietary software.

Unlike the world's most famous MP3 player brand, the Clip also has an FM radio receiver and acts as a digital recorder. The recorder is excellent, highly sensitive. You also can use it to record off the internal FM radio.

In all these ways, the clip is far superior to the world's most famous MP3 brand.

Cons: Controls are somewhat confusing until you've worked with them for a while. Screen typeface is too small for older eyes, so you'll have to use your reading glasses sometimes.

This is a great mp3 but it is so small it is easy to misplace. I use this in bed and around the house; it is amazing when I can find it. This is my first mp3 and it is so easy to use and figure out. I was downloading songs and listening to it within 5 min. of opening it. I highly recommend this for young and old. I am 11 and my younger sisters have no trouble using it when I’m not home. I love it.
