This device worked well over the past year (I bought it May 2011). However May 2012, the device turned on by itself, and would not turn off. After multiple RESETS the device was not responsive. The only operable button was the HOLD bar. A previous Sony Walkman had a similar problem in that the volume button stopped working at around 1 year of use. I like Sony Walkman, but not now considering of buying another brand with repeated quality issues on Walkmans.

otr driver called sony about nwz-s544 not working told them about all the other complaints they replaced the player free of charge afther the 90 day warrenty was up with nwz-s545. they step up to make it right.i would recommend sony but not the nwzs-544.

i'm a over the road truck driver.i listen to a lot of auto books. it work great at first charge it many of time in the truck.3 mount later it would not work it freezes up reset didn't work.
