WiMAX One of the standards used by cell phone service providers that they call "4G". Based on the IEEE 802.16e wireless standard, mobile WiMAX is a wireless broadband Internet connection like Wi-Fi, with comparable data speeds. But its range is much greater, measured in miles rather than feet, which in theory should provide continuous broadband coverage over greater distances. If supported you usually have to sign up with a service provider and pay an extra fee.

This machine has great features for the price, but a couple of serious flaws render it a poor choice. I was pleasantly surprised to find a laptop at this price with a roomy hard disk drive and an LED backlit display. Unfortunately, the trackpad intermittently becomes inoperable for no apparent reason, and the cursor tends to jump around from errant brushes with my palm while I type. Control of the cursor is a must have, rendering this machine a bad choice. Another major disapointment is the ASUS 360 warranty that I found out I am ineligible for after the purchase. For some reason, if you purchase this machine from [...], ASUS will not protect your purchase with their expanded warranty! Nice touch. It's going back.
