About - Canon Pixma MX340
---
The Canon Pixma MX340 is an all-in-one inkjet printer with scan and copy functions, an automatic document feeder, built-in faxing, and Wi-Fi networking. It works with both Windows and Mac OS. There's an automatic document feeder to let you copy or scan a stack of pages in one operation. The printer has no photo preview display. Unlike most color printers, the Canon Pixma MX340 lacks a memory-card reader. It has PictBridge for direct printing from cameras. You can connect directly to a PC with a USB cable, or to your network router wirelessly with Wi-Fi. This model has built-in faxing, can store incoming faxes if the paper runs out, and can send faxes from an attached PC.

Comment:
Agree that I bought this in-expensive printer. However , it is extremely noisy , terribly slow , ink is expensive and my computer ( Dell 1700 Inspiron ) doesn't seem to want to interface with this printer. Often I have to continually click ' PRINT ' for it to function. Wether it is cockpit issue ( ? ) I don't know. Do know that my previous printer HP 926 had no issues.

Comment:
Bought this for my Mom's (86 y/o!) casual use. No more driving to the local copy center for her occasional need, she loves the photo print quality from photo files we send her, and the simple web browser print tool bar is great. We installed it for her with the wireless option so, when family members visit, we can all effortlessly access and share it from our notebook PCs. Yes, it would have been nice if the control panel was back-lit, but that is really a minor inconvenience. This is easily such a great price performer. Or, said another way for its critics, how high should you set the bar for an [$] multi-function printer? Good job, Canon!

Comment:
Doesn't function if the very expensive ink is even low (no faxing, scanning, nothing). A driver that is supposed to fix the problem won't stay (repeated downloads required). Can't see the display because it isn't lighted. SLOOOOOOWWW. Terrible photo quality printing - colors off, lines.
