Comment:
Works okay, when it works. Was able to setup with Windows 7 okay but frequently loses communication which requires restarting printer, router and sometimes computer.<br /><br />Either uses more ink than claimed or the ink cartridges aren't as full as claimed.<br /><br />Disappointed!

[...] this printer is a disaster. It does not work with windows 7 and tech support does not know how to fix it. After three attempts by phone, wasting over two hours, and two attempts by email, it still was not working. My request for a refund or replacement, made over a month ago, has been ignored.

Comment:
Great when it works. Bought in March 2010. First was defective and exchanged. Install was easy. Then problems. Would not work with Windows 7. Required constant re-boots to clear communication problems. Would print a few things, then stop again. Tech support is worthless, three failed attempts on phone plus two by email. Have refused to respond to my request for a refund or replacement. Last month I bought an HP that is working perfectly. FYI this is my third, and last, Lexmark. First two were great.

Strength
Prints flawlessly two sided via wireless. Impressive printing and easy install on network via wireless router (Apple Airport Extreme)
Weakness
Has older version of ABBYY Finereader 5 Sprint. Not compatible with Mac OS X 10 or higher.
I've had this printer for a couple of weeks and works great, except as noted below.?I would have rated this printer a 5-star, except for the OCR issue below.??However, the Lexmark S605 has a print-driver updat that the Apple Updater will automatically find and install once you set up the S605.??Note: Keep in mind though, this printer, like most Lexmarks also come with an OCR program in addition to the Lexmark Program. An OCR program scans text documents into a PDF, word, etc. If you only scan stuff into a picture type document you don't have to worry about using an OCR program.??I'm not sure if there is a work-around for this, but the OCR program that comes with the Lexmark S605 is the ABBYY FineReader 5 Sprint which is not compatible with Mac OS.?(I'm not sure about other Lexmark models).??**See abbyy dot com/support/finereader_sprint_sr?which states in part: ?System Requirements:?Processor PC with 1GHz processor or higher?Operating System Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000??Apple support says I have to call Lexmark support for the ABBYY reader. Lexmark support for Mac's is closed on weekends.?There were no updates at the ABBYY OCR at ABBYY nor Lexmark websites.?If you don't need to scan and create a document in PDF, etc., then you don't need to worry about the ABBYY reader.?
