Comment:

The printer is OK, quality-wise, and great for the price.<br />What has prompted me to leave a review is CR's incompetence as they summarize this machine as:<br />Summary: A printer from Brother with scan and copy functions, and with . Works with both Windows and Mac OS.<br />Truth is, it has no scan or copy capabilities!<br />Also, CR infers that there is an additional paper tray that comes with this machine - again, this is wrong as only one tray comes with it.<br />I truly do not think CR has tested this machine (most likely they plagiarized someone else's tech review).<br />I have been with CR for a long time and have witnessed their continuous misrepresentation of products and constant deterioration in their services. They have turned from good guys to bad ones - bad ones because they are deceptive and thus de-servicing their members.<br />Just think of this:<br />Why does not CR put a date stamp on their electronic reports? Does it cost them ink. This has been asked over and over for years now but they will not do so because many of their reports are 5+ years old and the products they list are most obsolete. I can not tell you how many times I have encountered such an issue..... had CR included a date on their reports I would act accordingly and not waste my time in trying to find discontinued products.<br /><br />There have been many, many times that their highly rated products have proven to be mere flukes.<br />Incompetence, apathy, and subjective reporting would truly make justice to describe CR lately.

we print 600 pages per month, good by inkjet hello laser. big monthly cost savings, ink lasts 8000 sheets with high toner, it came with 3000 ink, i set the default to 2 sided printing to save paper

We have been using this printer for about two years.<br />This is the best Black & White printer one can have for the house for the following reasons:<br />1. It is a network printer. This means that you connect it to your network and then you can print from any computer wired or WiFi at your home.<br />2. It works very well with iMac Mac Book Pro and I assume iPad too.<br />3. It prints very high quality Black & White prints.<br />4. Printing is very fast.<br />5. For the price of $80 or $70 you can get a cartridge that will last you years (We are using the same cartridge for the last two years).<br />Comment::<br />No need to setup the printer to connect wirelessly it is cumbersome!<br />Connect it directly to the router it is much easier and much more reliable and will also work perfectly this way with the WiFi connected computers like LapTops.(Who needs wireless connection to the printer)<br /><br />What else one needs?
