Comment:

After daily use,just remove cutting head and rinse under hot running water. Put back in recharge unit and don't use the cleaning system the recharge unit has. <br />Seems to be fairly noisy to me but others haven't reported that.

I have a slightly heavier than average beard which grows in fairly rapidly. I can grow enough of a beard to look like a beard, and not just like I haven't bothered to shave for a few days, in eight to ten days.<br /><br />I will start by conceding what we all know anyway. If I want to shave at 6:30 in the morning and I want it to still feel baby smooth at 10:00 at night, there is no electric shaver on earth which will do it. I have to use a blade, and I have to use it not just with, but against the grain. <br /><br />I previously owned a Braun 9595 shaver which gave me a good shave when I used it regularly (which I rarely did, having switched from electric to straight razor to single blade safety razor to beard and back over the period I owned that razor). I began using it relatively regularly when I retired a few months ago and was reasonably satisfied with it. The razor broke (my fault) a couple of weeks ago and I purchased the Series 7 790cc-4 as a replacement. I have used the new shaver daily since I purchased it.<br /><br />From the first shave this razor performed flawlessly. I acknowledge that my face was already used to shaving with an electric of the same basic design, so I did not have the usual break in period. <br /><br />Pluses:<br /><br />It shaves as close as, and probably closer than, a blade razor used only with the grain of my beard.<br /><br />It creates little to no skin irritation (certainly less than a blade razor even when used only with the grain of my beard).<br /><br />It cleans easily (although somewhat expensively) in the charging/cleaning stand, and can be cleaned perfectly well by rinsing the shaving head under running water when you are traveling and don't have the stand available (I do carry a small can of shaver lubricant which I use when traveling, but I don't really think it makes a lot of difference for a couple of day trip.)<br /><br />The personalization settings do permit me to get slightly closer is areas that are occasionally difficult.<br /><br />On the negative side:<br /><br />It is noisy, both when shaving and when cleaning/charging in the stand.<br /><br />Replacing cleaning cartridges every month or so is a bit expensive, as is the razor itself.

This razor is very easy to use, but leaves a bit of stubble on my neck. I bought it based on reviews of other razors in the Braun 790 series, which gave rave reviews. My experience after 2 months' use is that it doesn't shave any closer than my old Remington with worn-out foils. However, it doesn't miss hairs, and the cleaning/charging base is large but easy to use. The cleaning cycle is loud, as is the razor itself. Overall it's a good razor but not a good value at [$]
