About - All-Clad Copper Core 6000-7SS

The Copper Core 6000-7SS is part of the kitchen cookware test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, cookware models like the Copper Core 6000-7SS are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Set (pieces):
Each set includes at least a saucepan, a frying pan, and a stockpot. Lids are typically counted as separate components in a set.

Cooking evenness:
Cooking evenness reflects the ability of frying pans to turn out evenly browned pancakes on a gas range.

Nonstick durability:
To assess nonstick durability, we intentionally abraded frying-pan surfaces with steel wool until the coating was worn through or up to 2,000 strokes. Scoring for finishes that were still intact at 2,000 strokes reflects reduced nonstick performance.

Not your average hash pan!!

How long have you owned it:
More than six months
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

If you love to cook . . . if you truly love to cook . . . the All-Clad Copper Core pans are BY FAR the best we've owned. They cook evenly, clean up VERY easily (just as well as non-stick), are heavy (I consider that a virtue), and are beautiful to boot. On top of that, the Copper Core line is made in the U.S.A. I recommend finding a large or medium-sized deep saute pan, with lid, ON SALE. You won't regret it! If you had only that, it would open your eyes to the flaws of your old cookware. Remember, too, that these pans truly are built to last. If you wish to throw your pans away every decade or so, please don't buy these. And I recommend buying pieces only when you know you will need them.

Beautiful, responsive, durable, pricey!

Pros:
BEAUTIFUL, Durable, Responsive, Shape
Cons:
Expensive, Heavy
Best Uses:
Pan frying, Stove top
How long have you owned it:

We've put them in the dishwasher and they are fine that way, despite instructions saying not to. The copper inside makes pan frying very responsive. It is almost impossible to burn things. The only slightly negative thing that is a little odd is that they are rather heavy.
