I too am surprised at the CR rating on this product. I finally broke down about 5 years ago and bought my first set. There was no turning back. Very even heat distribution even on electric stoves. It takes getting used to if you have only cooked with non coated or inexpensive cookware (it takes a bit more time to heat up) but it is well worth it. Even my occassional-cooking husband puts in requests for other pots to compliment our current collection. I use all the skillets (8', 10' and 12') frequently, the dutch oven goes from stove top to oven with superb results, the small 1qt and 2 qt sauce pots are great for day to day cooking and heating, the stock pots are the best I have ever used. This is last cookware I will buy.

We've gradually been replacing our Cuisinart nonstick cookware with this particular line. We've been using it for several years now. We cook a lot and a wide variety of things and love this stuff. It is durable, responds well to our gas cooktop, which has a variety of flame sizes and settings, and allows us to control the heat to very low simmer temps, as well as higher heats for reducing sauces. Sauteing delicate onions and garlic in butter (yum! love the smell) is a cinch, simmering tomato sauces, etc. The only thing we use our non-stick cookware for is frying eggs w/o a lot of fat.

Downside: it's expensive. I consider the weight an upside. It's not too heavy for me despite problems w/tendonitis in my elbows. Again, I'm baffled by CU's results, though I do find them generally reliable.
