Comment:
I have been using this grill year around for about 2 years now. This gill does not expose your food to any direct flame. Thus flame ups are eliminated - unless you never ever clean out the metal basin that separates the burners from the grates. The basin catches all the drippings and it is easily removed and cleaned. My burners are in excellent condition after 2 years. With the indirect heat you can cook at higher temperatures and not burn the food - the infrared cooks very evenly. It also cooks faster. I like my steak medium well (slightly pink in center) and with grills with direct flame exposure it is hard to avoid getting the exterior burned. With this grill the meat is evenly cooked and tender in less time than with the other grills I have owned (Weber, Master Forge). My cook out guests are so impressed with how this grill cooks they usually ask where they can get this grill for themselves.

A real disappointment. Just wanted something quick and to keep from heating up the house. Long time to heat up, no flavor advantage, no use for it.<br />TC

Comment:
The heating element is different on this version. The half cylinder is heated by the burners. I cook with it at 550-600 degrees. You can easily drop in wood chips for added smoke taste. Cooks evenly at low heat settings for baking and cooking fish. I easily clean the base out with the spatula.
