About - Black & Decker MM875
---
This 19-inch corded-electric push mower operates at 12 amps of power. It's intended to work well when mowing small and level lawns. It can re-cut clippings until they're small enough to settle back into the lawn as mulch, bag them into a removable catcher, or discharge them through a side chute (although the side-chute is optional). It has electric start, eliminating the need to pull-start the engine. To change the grass-cutting height, a single lever can be used to adjust all wheels at once. This Black & Decker is backed by a 2-year warranty.

Comment:
I typically mow my lawn weekly or bi-weekly. The mower would struggle cutting tall grass. I would frequently mow an area twice as the mower did not cut the grass the first time (it was tolerable). It mowed okay for the first three years, after that, it wouldn't start. I took it to a repair shop who supposedly fixed it. I used it that same day I got it back and it worked for a short while and then wouldn't start. It was good while it lasted.

Comment:
I would be real careful with this mower. Tried to reduce grass height on normal lawn. It struggled and engine failed under the strain. I did follow all the recommendations on cord weight, strength. I did not abuse this. Just seems weak and subsequently may have failure if you need to push it at all such as if you delayed a mowing.

Comment:
With a moderately large lawn (about 8-9,000 sq. ft.) I had some fears about an electric having enough power and durability. So far I love it. As long as I don't let the grass get too tall I have plenty of power. Evenness of the cut can suffer a bit with longer grass, but not too bad. Freedom from gas and oil is worth being tethered to the power cord. The wedge design of the body is great for mowing under evergreens of which I have several. Really hope I get 30 years out of it like another reviewer on here!

Strength
Electric, less hassle.
Weakness
Weak on taller grass. Can be heavy for moderate hills. The rear bag does not work well since the pathway to the bag always gets blocked by wet grass which is common in the NW.
Good mower for small flat areas in drier climates. Watch out that you don't mow the cord. Also, have a good quality cord. In wetter areas, you will need to clean up underneath the mower every 5 minutes.

Strength
Light weight, and saves on GAS
Weakness
Requires 12 amp wire ($58), thick and heavy to work with and VERY worrysome
Mower is quiet, fairly powerful, light weight, and the height adjustment is great. This is my first electric lawn mower and I fear the electric wire! I used it once, in front yard and it did ok job. My last gas mower was a Sears 6.5HP 22 Self-Propelled with a Briggs&Stratton engine and it got harder and harder to get it to start, even after replacing spark plug and once a year, tune up service!. This mower is easy to start, doesn't need oil, spark plug or tune up and is safe for environment. I had to buy a $58 12 gage 100 ft cord. I have to plan ahead and mow differently than before so as not to mow over the cord.

Strength
Quieter than gas mowers, no messing with gas, easy height adjustment
Weakness
a bit heavy, you have to be cautious about your cord
This mower by Black & Decker does a good job of cutting the grass. It has plenty of power and, of course, it is easy to start. The bag is easy to take off and empty. I am happy with this mower...I think you will be too.
