In my world this is not an inexpensive piece of machinery. Features except for the engine are cheaply done. Happy with how it starts and generally satisfied with the self-propelled and walking functions. However, brake cable assembly (cheap design) broke after just 4 month. Back to HD for warrantly replacement. [...] Am now nervously ready to start mowing again.

I just received a Toro notice in the mail today (7/14/2011), acknowledging they have a problem with the transmission that drives the rear wheels on several of their power mowers. My unit was purchased prior to the parade of negative reviews posted in CR. Beware if you are considering purchasing a Toro--there is a loooong list of models affected. It is noted that Toro provided a voucher extending the warrenty for the transmission for 1 year--thanks.
