Comment:
I purchased this or a very, very similar Snow Joe model two years ago. It worked great through two large and heavy snowfalls. However, during the third snow storm, as the wind blew the snow back over me and the snowblower while doing the driveway, (melting) snow entered the area where the electric plug attaches to the snow blower. Water and electricity do not mix. The unit began smoking and a small fire developed near the plug area (this area on the snow blower handle was often covered with snow that blew back in windy conditions). Up until that time, it had been functioning wonderfully and was a great labor saving device. My advice is to purchase with caution. (Please note: If it were not for the smoke and fire, I would have given this unit 3 stars.)

Comment:
The plastic housing broke-large hole in it so the snow when back at me. Used on paved driveway- Snowjoe says this is a random act like a rock hitting your windshield. No help at all. Before this the pulley, also plastic, broke. Snowjoe refuses to help

Comment:
Had 8 inches of snow, and the heavy snow plowed pile at the end of drive way (3 car widths wide and 30 yards long). After some practice, the cord management was easy. Before use, I sprayed Teflon/Silicon spray inside the snow shoot and inside the blade housing. Threw the snow over 20 feet.[$] a fantastic bargain. I had gas snow blowers before, and going electric was the best buy so far. No gas/oil mess, warming up time and no pull starting. Just pull the lever and go at it!!!
