Who's sorry now?

The sour economy has killed off plenty of chain stores, but how many will be missed? In a nationally representative survey conducted in October, we asked Americans whether they missed 12 chains that had gone out of business. Respondents were clearly sorriest to see two stores go: Circuit City (missed especially by men) and Linens 'n Things (missed especially by women). But reserve some pity for the late Dormia Mattresses and Domain Furniture. Just 13 percent of Americans had even heard of them.
