'07-'08 Jeep Wrangler

Vehicles with automatic transmission were not equipped with transmission-fluid-temperature warning system. Fluid could boil over, come into contact with hot engine or exhaust component, and cause fire.

Models: 161,450 '07-'08 Jeep Wranglers.

What to do: Dealer will install "hot oil" message in instrument cluster and an alert chime. Call Chrysler at 800-853-1403 for details.

Stork Craft crib

Stork Craft drop-side cribs

The drop-side plastic hardware could break or deform, creating an entrapment danger for infants.

Products: 2.1 million Stork Craft drop-side cribs sold in the U.S. and Canada at retail stores and online from January 1993 through October 2009 for $100 to $400. The recall also involves Stork Craft cribs with Fisher-Price logos sold from October 1997 to December 2004.

What to do: Stop using the crib. Contact the manufacturer at 877-274-0277 or www.storkcraft.com to obtain a free repair kit.

 

Household products

Homelite backpack blowers

Fuel tank can leak gas, posing risk of fire.

Products: 85,000 Homelite blowers sold nationwide from September 2007 through October 2009 for $90 to $140. Models are UT08580 and UT08580A.

What to do: Stop using the blower and contact Homelite at 800-242-4672 or go to www.homelite.com to schedule a free fuel-tank replacement.

Sony AC adapter

Sony Vaio computer AC adapters

Insulation inside adapter can fail, posing electrical-shock hazard.

Products: 69,000 Sony VGP-AC19V17 adapters sold at Sony stores and online, retailers, and dealers from September 2005 through October 2009 with docking stations selling for $250 to $300 and all-in-one computers selling for $900 to $3,300.

What to do: Turn off and unplug computer, and contact Sony at 877-361-4481 or go to esupport.sony.com/ac19adapter to arrange for free replacement of adapter.
