’98-’10 Toyota Sienna

In certain vehicles operated in cold-climate regions where road salt is often used, salty water can splash onto spare-tire carrier located underneath and corrode assembly cable. Cable may break and tire may fall, posing risk of crash.

Models: 600,000 ’98-’10 Siennas registered in CT, DE, IL, IN, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VT, VA, WV, WI, and District of Columbia.

What to do: Toyota is developing a remedy and will contact owners with details. In the interim, Toyota will send notices instructing owners to take the car to the dealer for an inspection. Call Toyota at 800-331-4331 or go to www.toyota.com/recall for more details.
