'01-'05 Volvo

Fuel pump can crack when exposed to hot climate and temperature cycling over time and in combination with varying fuel quality. Fuel leak could result in fire.

Models: 136,100 '01-'04 S60, V70, and XC70; '02-'05 S80; '03-'05 XC90 sold or registered in AL, AR, AZ, CA, FL, GA, HI, KY, LA, MS, NV, NM, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, and the U.S. territories.

What to do: Dealer will inspect fuel pump and, if it's defective, replace it with modified one at no charge. Call Volvo at 866-637-3774.

Vicks DayQuil Liquicaps

Medicine contains acetaminophen and is not in child-resistant packaging as required by law. It could cause serious health problems or death to a child if several of the capsules were swallowed.

Products: 700,000 packages of Vicks DayQuil Cold & Flu 24-Count Bonus Pack Liquicaps sold at drugstores, grocery stores, and other retailers nationwide between September 2008 and December 2009 for about $5. Product has UPC 3 23900 01087 1.

What to do: Keep the product out of reach of children. If you bought it expecting it to be in child-resistant packaging, call Procter & Gamble at 800-251-3374 or go to www.vicks.com for a full refund or a replacement coupon.

Dorel Infant car seat/carrier

Dorel Infant car seat/carriers

When used as an infant carrier, child-restraint handle to seat can loosen and come off, posing a risk of child falling.

Products: 447,000 Safety 1st, Cosco, Eddie Bauer, and Disney branded infant car seat/carriers manufactured from January 6, 2008, through April 6, 2009, and sold nationwide from January 2008 through December 2009 for $120 to $220. Manufacture date and model number are on label on side of seat. Dorel has received 77 reports of handle fully or partially detaching, resulting in at least three injuries to infants.

What to do: Do not use handle until repair kit has been installed. You can continue to use it as a car seat when it's properly installed in a vehicle. Call Dorel at 866-762-3316 or go to www.djgusa.com/safety_notice for model numbers and to get a free repair kit.
