Ads for the Cool Surge, published in the New York Times and other papers, look like articles (an "advertisement" disclaimer is tiny). The device is called a "work of engineering genius," but it's not unlike a cooling technique supposedly used thousands of years ago: Hanging a wet curtain in a window.
