



The X1 is a new compact luxury SUV that's smaller than the X3. It goes on sale this fall in Europe with a choice of gasoline or diesel engine. But BMW says powertrains have not been finalized for the X1's U.S. debut in 2011.
This five-door, five-passenger luxury crossover, based on the MDX, is touted as offering SUV-like versatility in a sporty, coupelike package. It's expected to be priced in the mid-$40,000 range and to go on sale this winter. Honda has also announced a new crossover of its own, the Accord Crosstour, due this fall.
Indian manufacturer Mahindra plans to bring two- and four-door versions of its yet-unnamed compact pickup to the U.S. in early 2010. It will be powered by a 2.2-liter diesel engine and will be offered with two- or four-wheel drive. Prices will be in the $20,000-to-$28,000 range.
This two-door hybrid coupe is due to go on sale in early 2010.
