Products: 530,000 Barista and Seattle’s Best Coffee blade grinders made by Tsann Kuen Enterprise of China and sold at Starbucks and Seattle’s Best Coffee from 3/02 through 3/09 for $30. Starbucks has had 176 reports of grinders that failed to turn off or that turned on unexpectedly, including three reports of cuts to the hand when grinders turned on during cleaning.

Black & Decker coffeemakers

Products: 584,000 Spacemaker coffeemakers sold at major retailers nationwide and at Amazon.com from 3/06 through 3/09 for $60 to $70. Recalled model numbers are ODC440, ODC440B, ODC450, and ODC460. Applica Consumer Products, the distributor, has had 235 reports of hot water overflowing onto users, including 10 reports of second-degree burns.
What to do: Stop using the coffeemaker and contact Applica at 866-668-4442 or go to www.acprecall.com to get a free replacement brew basket.
Simplicity drop-side cribs

Products: 400,000 cribs sold at various retail stores nationwide from 1/05 through 6/09 for $150 to $300. The recall involves at least 13 models.
What to do: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled crib and find a safe alternative. Go to the CPSC’s Web site, at www.cpsc.gov, for a list of model numbers. Return the crib to the place of purchase for a refund, replacement, or store credit.
